Meta faces parallel antitrust investigations by EU Commission, Italian competition authority over AI use in WhatsApp
The European Commission has joined Italy’s national competition authority (the Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato) in opening an antitrust probe into Meta’s new policy regarding AI providers’ access to WhatsApp, warning that it could constitute an abuse of dominance through a combination of tying and exclusionary conduct.
